Why the Blog?

The reason in writing this Blog is because im having a Tummy Tuck! Say What? Yep a Tummy Tuck.
I wanted to write down my experience of the procedure, and the things that have led up to making this decision. I probably would have done it in a journal, but for two reasons i haven't.
Firstly There is not really a lot of information about Tummy Tucks in Australia. If you Google Tummy Tuck, majority of the sites are based on Procedures out the country. Sure you can find a surgeon, but their are hardly any reviews from patients.
The second reason is because when you mention the surgery you are having is a Tummy Tuck you get one of 2 reactions. 'I heard you can get one fully covered by Medicare after x amount of babies. Is this true?' Usually these people have already considered having one themselves. And the other on is a quiet 'oh OK.' This one comes mostly from people who don't know me very well and i assume that they think im pretty vain, or not care.
Yep i will admit i am a little bit Vain..... Sometimes more then a bit! ;) I am also really excited for the surgery, and the possibility that i may actually have a flat tummy afterwards.
I am not one of those women who embrace the beauty of their mummy tummy and count their precious stretch marks because it reminds them of the special time when their baby was safe inside and we've earned our stripes or apron or blah blah blah! All Hail the Post Baby Body! Haha! Nah, If it makes you feel better about how you look post baby, awesome! Stick with that. But its not me.
Being able to be a bit vain in this case is a bonus. Im having a Tummy Tuck for medical reasons. To fix the problems underneath my baby stretched skin. A Tummy Tuck is how you fix it. Seems a bit silly to lift your skin back and do repairs only to close and keep the excess skin hanging. I say just cut that saggy sucker off!
Would I get a TT if i didn't have other issues? I like to think i wouldn't. I'm not ecstatic about the effects pregnancy has had on my body, but i am comfortable enough. And im pretty good at sucking it in : P
If i did decide to have it though i would in no way pay for it and would be happy sitting in line on the waiting list. But that's another story.
So there you go! I hope you enjoy reading about my adventure. Please don't hesitate to ask questions. :)

JUST A WARNING: I WILL BE POSTING PICTURES THAT MAY NOT BE PLEASING TO THE EYES. IF YOU ARE EASILY GROSSED OUT I SUGGEST NOT TO CONTINUE READING!
